Support Chelsea Ruebling's City2Surf Run for Cure Our Kids:
Dear Friends and Family near and far,
As some of you may or may not know I have accepted the challenge of running the 14k's from Sydney's CBD to Bondi Beach. I am looking forward to taking part in the City2Surf (the worlds largest fun run) on August 12. Not only will this hopefully be one of the highlights to round off my year in Sydney but it will be benefiting a great cause.
My team and I have decided to support the Cure Our Kids Foundation. The Cure Our Kids Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports patients and thier families of the pediatric oncology unit. Cure Our Kids delivers a range of support services to help families cope with the many challenges childhood cancer presents. Medical treatment is only half the solution when it comes to childhood cancer. Cure Our Kids aims to help children with cancer and the families who love them with the rest. Since 2001, Cure Our Kids' mission has been to restore normalcy to the lives of children with cancer and the families who love them at The Children's Hospital at Westmead. Through programs that address the emotional, social and financial needs of brave young patients and their families, Cure Our Kids empowers families to cope with the many painful challenges that childhood cancer presents. Any support that you can give would be greatly appreciated not only by me but also by my team and the Cure Our Kids Foundation.
There are a number of ways you can support me and my team:
1. direct donation to my fundraising page
(To give a vague understanding of how your donation can help, $50 will fund a 'survival kit' for a newly diagnosed family and $150 will provide groceries for a week in the family room at the ward.)
2. Send me inspiring notes- because this is no easy feat for me!
3. Forward this email to all your friends and family!
I hope you can help us reach our goal!
Thank you in advance for your support. I look forward to seeing each of you soon and sharing my experience with you.
Lots of Love,
Patriot Elite High School teams (2013, 2014 & 2015) will participate in an exhibition game in front of recuiters to benefit The Herren Project.
The mission of The Herren Project is to provide assistance in taking the first steps toward recovery and a life of sobriety, including effective treatment, educational programs and resources to increase awareness on the signs of addiction and bring hope for a better tomorrow.
Positively impact the lives of those suffering with addiction, specifically the uninsured, by providing them with effective treatment programs, support and the necessary tools to be successful on their road to sobriety.
Educate youth and at-risk populations on the importance of a healthy lifestyle and provide techniques to handle pressure within their lives, their community or their family situation.
Provide scholarships to programs, clinics and camps to increase self confidence, motivation and develop a firm foundation on which to build success.
